Samantha Amaya

Hello, I’m Samantha! My work consists of illustration/3D modeling, branding, and campaigns. The projects that I enjoy the most are where I can fully create and explore ideas, and how I can incorporate my client values into their visual identity. One of my favorite projects is La Comal, which is a project that challenged my knowledge of branding and what I’m able to provide with my current connections. Testing my communication skills, reaching out to vendors, and what I can handcraft. I believe as a designer it’s great practice to test your mockups, print out your layouts, and take a step back to check your process. Where several projects can come from a singular idea, just depends on how you communicate it.

AHA REBRAND CAMPAIGN

  • Packaging
  • Branding
  • Illustration
  • Web Design
  • Product Design
  • Campaign
  • Motion
  • Marketing

Objection: Re-visualize an existing brand, exploring concepts that can enhance the brand. I wanted to push it a step further and create a campaign for a re-brand launch. This consists of three new can designs, a promo landing page, an animated ad, and a logo guidebook with expressions of how the logo could be utilized for advertisement.

BITMAGE GOTHIC FONT DESIGN

  • Typography
  • Product Design

Classification: A display bitmap font with similar characteristics to a Blackletter script, essentially combining two styles into an experimental font.

Taking inspiration from video games from the late 80’s, and early 2000s when bitmap popularized. Cyberpunk and steampunk aesthetics are a huge influence, on the creation of the typeface.

EL SALVADOR PAVILION LOGO

  • Typography
  • Branding
  • Illustration

Overview: Redesign the El Salvador Pavilion logo for Canadian-Salvadorians of Winnipeg, CSOW Inc. The design should be modern, with a representative element of the organization, and culture.

The logo incorporates positive and negative space, with a modern twist by knockout type into the logo. The illustration shows dynamic utilizing the skirt of the illustration to show the dancer’s motion. Replacing Futura with Proxima Nova solved the legibility issue by opening up tight areas of the previous font.
